The four steps

  1. See a qualified physician. A Florida-licensed physician decides whether you have a qualifying condition. You can see one in person or online.
  2. Get entered in the registry. If you're certified, your physician adds you to the Medical Marijuana Use Registry.
  3. Apply for your ID card. Log in to the state registry, upload a passport-style photo, provide proof of Florida residency, sign, and pay the application fee.
  4. Visit a licensed dispensary. With your card active, you can buy from a state-licensed treatment center.
